For this news story we are looking into what might be the movie that most people are excited that most in the upcoming Pixar movie line-up, The Incredibles 2.
It has been since 2004 that original The Incredibles movie was released, and fans of the movie have wondered what happened after the credits rolled. It looked like we would never get the answer until the 2014 Disney Shareholder meeting with Bob Iger announced that a sequel was in production. But ever since the announcement, there hasn't been much confirmed.
Here is all, or what little, we know about the film currently:
- Brad Bird started writing on April 10, 2015
- Brad Bird is currently only focusing on this sequel (May 10, 2015)
- The movie is releasing on June 21, 2019 (October 8, 2015)
- Micheal Giacchino is returning to score (November 26, 2015)
- Brad Bird will also direct the movie (February 23, 2016)
That is pretty much it so far, there hasn't anything about the actual plot confirmed aside from Samuel L. Jackson saying that Frozone might return.
But now thanks to an Entertainment Weekly article we know some more info about the hyped-up successor with Brad Bird saying the following:
“It’s very actively moving, and we’re excited about it, [We’re] trying to take it in some new directions.”
“Hopefully it’s the same characters and feel, but going in a new direction, I mean, that’s the trick with a sequel. It’s repeating yourself, without repeating yourself.”
I'm really happy that Brad Bird is really doing his best to make this movie the best it can be and I'm really excited for when we get our first look.
